Isaiah 6:10 “Make the heart of this people calloused; make their ears dull and close their eyes. Otherwise they might see with their eyes, hear with their ears, understand with their hearts, and turn and be healed.”

Isaiah 6:13 “And though a tenth remains in the land, it will again be laid waste. But as the terebinth and oak leave stumps when they are cut down, so the holy seed will be the stump in the land.”

Here, we see a rebellious, idolatrous people of Israel who do not know the Lord like their ancestors. For those who read the Bible, you will know that the people of Israel have always been a « roller coaster » people, that is to say a people with ascending then descending direction etc. No stability in their relationship with God; despite all the prophets sent by God, despite all the messages and warnings.
Let’s go back to verse 10, we could say to ourselves but why God did not want to heal their hearts, why make them callous to want to eliminate His people.
The answer is simple, it’s like trying to treat a sore throat by just giving pain reliever medication; even if the pain goes away (for a while anyway) will that solve the problem? NO.
So this is exactly what the Lord says in verse 13, He wants to radically eliminate the problem and form a new people with a new heart.

In this new week, I want to declare that the Lord uproots all the bad roots in you and plants a new seed.
A new fruit will sprout from you.
All the roots of wickedness, of anger; of pride, anything that does not honor the Father, He will remove it and sow something new in it.
Ezekiel 36:26: “I will give you a new heart and put a new spirit in you; I will remove from you your heart of stone and give you a heart of flesh.”

Romans 12v2 : “Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is—his good, pleasing and perfect will.”
