First love

Hi guys, welcome back on Consistency.
This week I was thinking about Christianity and I realized how much what is supposed to be a relationship, a genuine one with God has become a sum of religious activities, the competition of who prays the most, who knows more all the verses in the Bible……

I have nothing wrong with praying and meditating, but my problem is the purpose behind it. The world is made up of popularity, vanity, competition, who has the most influence and followers. It has created a system where only the views and the opinion of people count. It is either you influence or you are influenced, sometimes even both….
But since when have we brought that system into church? When has it become about showing people how long you can stay in a secret place ? How many Bible verses can you memorize ? How loudly pray in capital letter tongues ? How amazing are you as an instrumentalist ? How you can sing like Céline Dion ?
I say again, I don’t have a problem with being excellent at what you do, for I know God has created us for influence and impact, we are a chosen generation, we are a ROYAL Priesthood, we are called to summon nations we know not, we are called to bring light in place of darkness, we are call to rule…..
But all we do is for the purpose of giving glory to God and out of the love that you have for Him.

Yes, you can do amazing things, but don’t forget it is never about you, and it will never be about you alone. So yeah, let’s expose our gifts and talents for the Lord will multiply them, but let’s be careful about not forgetting our first love in the process.
It is not because you still pray for that long that you still love God that much……….

Talking about prayer, let me emphasize this: Let prayer not become a religious activity. Prayer is a communication between you and God. A moment you talk to your loved one because you know how much He is the anchor of your life, that outside Him there is no life. Of course, there are different kinds of prayers (intercession, petition etc.), and I don’t know if you will understand this but don’t remain in the dimension of the servant, God also wants to relate with you as a Father in His secret place, as a lover.
I hope I am being clear enough.
Revelation 2:4 “ Yet I hold this against you: You have forsaken the love you had at first

I will conclude on this. I don’t know how amazing your relationship with God is, but never forget your first love, always allow the Holy Spirit to search your heart to never allow you to become a religious person despite your fire…..

God loves you
